Favarh Partners with Power 10 as seen on NBC Connecticut News

As an agency, Favarh is always striving to be "New and Different" and that concept definely applies to our Recreation and Wellness Program. In January 2015, Favarh reached out and partnered with Power 10 Indoor Rowing Center, which is based in Avon and is the first dedicated indoor rowing center in Connecticut. 5 individuals with developmental disabilities from Favarh agreed to participate in an 8 week (1 day per week) rowing program at Power 10.

The program paired Favarh participants with individuals without developmental disabilities, called "partners", who were there to assist them during the rowing workouts and to offer consistent encouragement throughout the 8 week program.

At the end of the program, the participants were offered the opportunity to compete in the CRASH B World Indoor Rowing Championship which was held on March 1, 2015 at Boston University's Agganis Arena. Rowers from all over the world competed, including Favarh's very own Sierra Kessler and Lauren Traceski.

You can see Sierra and Lauren talk about their experience with the program and demonstrate their rowing skills on NBC Connecticut News with some members from Power 10 by clicking Here.

Overall the program appears to be very successful and Favarh will be looking to partner with Power 10 yet again for another 8 week program beginning in May 2015.

Favarh gives a tremendous amount of thanks to Power 10 and NBC Connecticut News.
