Favarh Receives Generous State Grant

READER SUBMITTED: Favarh Receives Generous State Grant

Favarh, The Arc of the Farmington Valley, was awarded a $ 219,673.00 grant through the State of Connecticut Office of Policy and Management Nonprofits Grant program.

This award is part of the $20 million in bonding that Governor Daniel Malloy set aside for nonprofit, community-based organizations. This bond pool is intended to enhance opportunities for nonprofit providers by allowing them to invest in projects that will achieve new efficiencies, so they can lower administration costs and improve delivery of services.

Favarh's projects include the purchase of automatic generators for 5 Group Homes and one Day Service program, completion of construction (two program rooms and a handicapped bathroom) at Favarh's new Day Service location in Canton, and a furnace replacement, and AC installation at another Group home.

Favarh has been helping children and adults, with intellectual and developmental disabilities, achieve their personal best since 1958. Support, such as this grant, is greatly appreciated and essential to the success of the programs and services Favarh provides. For more information contact Favarh's Fund Development office at 860-693-6662 ext. 116 or rcipolla@favarh.org.
