For the Favarh Players cast and crew, the 90-minute production of Disney’s "Aladdin Jr." at the Roberts Theater in March of 2023, is much more than a show.

"Everybody talks about disabilities and what they can't do," said Jessica Poon. "This production in this organization is about their abilities and what they're capable of doing and spotlighting their amazing talents."

Jessica plays Jasmine in the production. She is also a volunteer and assistant choreographer for Favarh Players. Her sister Alison has been receiving support from Favarh for years and will serve as a narrator in the play.

"The awesome thing about this inclusive theater program is that these are people society would never expect to be able to learn choreography, learn the music, do it all off book, and be able to run this one-and-a-half-hour show with costume changes, with props, with lines that they have to remember," Poon said. "These people, for so many years in our history, have been brushed aside and assumed that they couldn't do anything. This is just one very small but very important aspect to the theater program, to show all that they’re capable of."
